1)  This year’s ASA Meetings in Montreal featured a successful Graduate Student Roundtable Session with numerous presenters and high attendance.  Each roundtable featured an impressive range of paper topics that generated thoughtful and extensive discussions.  Thank you to SFAB members and students who participated in this event.

 2) The SFAB proudly presents our new website and wikipage!  Visit the website at http://socstudentforum.org and the wikipage at http://wiki.socstudentforum.org. Hosted by and for student sociologists, the website serves as a space for students to voice their concerns, ideas, advice for other students, and anything else that is relevant to the Student Forum.  Also, here you will find information about the Student Forum and how you can become more involved as a student in ASA.  Our wikipage features reading lists, funding opportunities, job announcements, helpful advice on attending conferences, serving on committees and much more!  Please take a look at current postings and feel free to post your own information and suggestions.

3)  Welcome New SFAB members!  Listed on the SFAB website, our new members are Michael Evans, Danielle Hidalgo, Lindsay Howden and Antwan Jones.  For contact information, please see their bios at http://socstudentforum.org/advisoryboard/.  We would also like to thank our outgoing members Andrea Miller, Delores Edelen, and Cassandra Crawford and our past chair Louis Esparza for all of their hard work!

The Student Forum Advisory Board is a student run committee comprised of nine elected members.  If you would like to know more about the members and the activities of the Student Forum please visit http://www.asanet.org/page.ww?section=Students&name=Student+Forum and http://socstudentforum.org.
